Rescue Diver is a 2 day program (plus e-learning for the academic section) that will  give you the knowledge and skills to perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid. The program is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver.

PREREQUISITES:

PADI Advanced qualification

HOW OUR COURSE WORKS

Cost: $230, plus Padi elearning program.

Don’t register for elearning until we have checked your enrolment, medical and certification.
16 hours open water
PADI eLearning academics – 15 hours.

Hire gear is at half normal daily rates.

You also need to complete the Emergency First Response course ($190) or have a current Work Place 1st aid qualification (St John/ Red Cross etc).

COURSE OUTLINE

 

DAY 1
9:30 am – 10:30am (A) PADI Rescue video: 1-4.
10:30am – 2pm (OW) Tired diver assist
Panicked diver assist.
Response from shore or boat.
Out of air exercises.
2pm – 2.30pm Lunch
2.30pm – 7pm (A)

Missing diver search – ( three types)
Surfacing with the unconscious diver.

 

CPR manikin training.

Using oxygen equipment,
DAN Video: ‘Oxygen first aid in dive accidents’

 

DAY 2
9am – 2.00pm (A)

(OW)

PADI Rescue video: 7 -10

Unconscious diver on the surface, resuscitation and equipment removal

Exits – shore/boat.

First aid procedure for pressure related accidents.

2pm – 3.pm Lunch
3pm – 5pm (OW) Diving accident scenarios.

 

All skill sessions are sea dives to make your training as realistic as possible.
